O’Connell Development Group, in collaboration with affiliated company Western Builders, helped PeoplesBank of Holyoke, MA define, design and realize the historic revitalization and repurposing of the former Yankee Pedlar Inn into the Peoples Banking Center.
PeoplesBank has restored the historic Hildreth House to close to its original Queen Anne style by removing many of the alterations and renovations that have occurred since the home’s construction in 1882. One 20th -century touch that was retained and rebuilt was the wraparound porch that was an iconic part of the Yankee Pedlar as well as many homes of the period located along Northampton Street.

PeoplesBank signed a purchase and sale agreement for the Yankee Pedlar restaurant property at Northampton and Beech streets in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and has plans to build a new financial services center on the 2-acre site. PeoplesBank has retained O'Connell Development Group as development consultant to manage the design, permitting and development for the project. Affiliated company Western Builders will act as construction manager. The Chapin School Veterans Housing project, a partnership of O’Connell Development Group and Soldier On, a not-for-profit group dedicated to providing housing for homeless veterans, converted a 120-year-old building from a vacant elementary school to a 43-unit apartment building for homeless veterans. All the units are one bedroom and come fully furnished. Construction was completed in late summer and the first 20 residents have moved in over the past two weeks. The building should be fully occupied in the next few weeks. ODG earned a fee as the developer of the building and Western Builders renovated the building.
